Mezcal and Chocolate
it's Rufus turning Eight yesterday and the party tomorrow and he's wanting some ribs and I'm up a bit late making salsa and dry rubbing the ribs; we're out of the everyday Gin (Gordon's) and there's no sipping bourbon to be found on the top or bottom shelf. I turned to an ancient bottle of smokey delicious La Fogata anejo mezcal that we've had forever and then I did some unpacking and found Stephen Hayden's home-made chocolate - he really did harvest the beans and roasted them and then I forget the process but know it's labor intensive.. anyway Stephen's chocolate is very nice with the smokey old tequila....I wonder if he'll be stopping in on the way back to Maine...
